These terms cover gene.dev, platform.gene.dev, software served from dl.gene.dev and artifacts.gene.dev, and the bots and services listed on this site. Using any of them means accepting them.

what this is

A personal site and personal projects, run by one person. Not a company. Several things here are unfinished and their pages say so. There is no service level, uptime commitment or support obligation.

accounts

An account is needed only for the parts with a signed-in side. Clerk handles authentication; the privacy policy says what that involves. One account covers every product here that needs one.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Give accurate information, do not share credentials, and email[email protected] if you think someone else has used it. You can close it at any time.

acceptable use

Do not:

• break the law, or use these services to harm or harass anyone
• try to reach accounts, systems or data that are not yours
• disrupt the services: scraping at a rate that degrades them, deliberate resource exhaustion, and similar
• redistribute license keys, capability tokens or paid entitlements
• present modified builds as official ones

Security research is welcome. Report findings privately to[email protected] before disclosing them, and do not read other people's data while looking.

software and source

Software is distributed from this site as built artifacts. Apps bought through the App Store are also covered by Apple's terms, and refunds go through Apple.

Where a repository is linked, its own license governs the source, MIT unless the project page says otherwise. Where none is linked, the source is not published.

Published source is not an invitation to collaborate. These are personal projects, and no support or review obligation comes with reading the code.

no warranty

Everything here is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. It may break, lose data or stop existing. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for damages arising from its use. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.

Keep your own backups.

ending things

I may close an account that breaks these terms, or retire a service. Where I can reasonably give notice of a retirement, I will. You can stop using any of it at any time.

changes

The date at the top is the version in force. A change that materially affects account holders is announced on the platform.
